Embark on Adventure and
Find Your Genius
Life’s worst can reveal your best.
Deep wounds can be ground zero for insight into the possibilities and promises of life that you may have written off a long time ago. There just might be a “Genius in Your Wound” — the gifts that grow from the lessons we learn as we process our past. Wounds can yield a spiritual space, create Genius, and develop into a uniquely personal superpower.
We encourage you to join us on a journey to find your Genius. Some journeys begin small, with a discussion over coffee or a hands-on skill workshop. Some journeys are born in the midst of an adventure, on a weekend trip or a multi-week retreat.
The 8-Week Adventure Retreat Program, with two weeks of travel bookended before and after by 3 weeks each of deep introspection and circumspection, serves as the cornerstone of the Genius in Your Wound program. These retreats bring our explorers on world-wide adventures in wildly varying locales. Each retreat is personally cultivated to offer deep meaning and value to its participants, with the intention of fostering connection, growth, and discovery.
Retreats are led by Pastor Al Dayhoff. While many find the retreats to be a spiritual experience, religion is not the focus. Participants come from all denominations, no denomination, agnosticism and atheism, and every other imaginable vantage point; the diversity of our participants is the whole point.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
The Genius in Your Wound retreats and workshops are for anyone looking for ways to explore meaning, connection, and strength. The program is not for people in active addiction or mental health crisis, nor is it for those who feel they are “healed enough.” We do not judge the depths of your wounds (this is not the “trauma olympics”!), and we do not judge your journey. In conversation, movement, activity, and mutual respect we support each other through growth and discovery to find hidden superpowers and explore possibility.
-
Not at all! The Genius in Your Wound program is created and developed by Pastor Al Dayhoff — while his spirituality informs much of his work all Genius programs are non-denominational and are not meant to preach, proselytize, or promote any particular religion or worldview.
